It was a really tough way to lose the NFC Championship yesterday, but I’m over it already. Our defense is going to be one of the top units for a very, very long time. Also, we almost forget that Jim Harbaugh did not have a full offseason with the team, and yet they were two Kyle Williams fumbles away from a Superbowl Berth.
I can’t help but get excited for next season already. Alex Smith will be better. Our O-line will be better. Michael Crabtree & Kyle Williams will get better. Kendall Hunter will be better. We’re gonna get Josh Morgan back. Vernon Davis is a beast, and Frank Gore is Frank Gore. Justin Smith is a MONSTER. So are Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman. Aldon Smith, who had a fantastic rookie year, is going to be even better (that’s kind of scary to think about). Our secondary will improve as they get more comfortable with each other.
I was always a 49ers fan first (Giants and Warriors came afterwards). Became one at age 7. It was great watching the old teams, although I knew very little about football at the time. The 2004-2011 years were dark, dark times. Things are finally looking up now. We have a team that can, and in the near future, WILL make it happen. So cheers to you 49ers. We’ll be waiting for ya at the Stick next season!
